Narrowing down my favorite photos of the past year is always a daunting task. Hours of work go into it—sifting through countless images to find the ones that truly spoke to me over the last 12 months. For this “Best of 2024” post, I started with nearly 2,000 photos. Of course, I couldn’t include them all, so I curated a collection of a few hundred favorites to share with you.

These posts aren’t just for you—they’re for me, too. As my own toughest critic, I sometimes feel imposter syndrome creeping in. But looking at these images, I can confidently say that 2024 was one of my best years yet. There are so many photos in this collection that truly reflect my skills and heart, all in one place. I say it often, but it’s worth repeating: I’m so grateful that this is my job!

As I worked to narrow these down (or at least tried to!), I noticed a few trends worth mentioning. Many of these images are shot on film—a medium I’ll always have a deep love for. I’m also drawn to sunlit photos with interesting light, as well as motion-filled images with intentional blur. Black-and-white photography made a bigger appearance this year, too, and detail shots continue to hold a special place in my heart. Lastly, I’ve found myself embracing the beauty of imperfection in my work; perfection is something I have been trying to let go of for quite some time. It’s freeing to focus on the raw emotion and authenticity behind the images.

Ultimately, I’m sharing this post not because it’s perfect or “done,” but because I’ve poured my heart into it and want to share these moments with the world.
