Big Cedar Lodge Wedding | Celina & Hunter

You know when you see something so very beautiful that you’re left speechless? That’s how this wedding makes me feel. When I first posted it, I didn’t write anything about it (about half my blog posts are pictures-only because writing something up takes me a pretty long time!). But after sleeping on it, I just knew I needed to say SOMETHING about this day!

Celina and Hunter have been so great from the start. I love the way they balance each other out – Celina is definitely the more outgoing and fun one, but Hunter is strong and reliable. The perfect match! Their December wedding at Big Cedar Lodge was one of my favorite winter weddings EVER. I’d actually never been to BCL, but it’s officially on my list of places to getaway to with my husband since it’s only a few hours drive!

You would never know it, but the day was the windiest wedding I’ve ever shot. As we were driving to the wedding, we were talking about how insane it was going to be, and we even pit-stopped at a Chick-fil-A where my hair was doing flips and flops EVERYWHERE. I was a little nervous because Celina has the prettiest hair in all the land, and I knew I wanted it to look perfect on her big day!

The first look was a little rough, wind-wise. Looking back it was actually pretty hilarious to see how crazy the wind was, and we had to keep taking little breaks between shots to see if it would calm down. By some miracle, though, it had all but died down for wedding party portraits, and I was able to grab some extra bride & groom pictures in the calmer skies which resulted in some of my favorite portraits!

The reception was truly a celebration! So many sweet moments, but two of my favorites were: (1) a personal, private moment between Celina and I where she gave me the sweetest, biggest, longest hug. It meant a lot to me! (2) right before we left, the bridesmaids were dancing around Celina and singing “Thank U, Next” all together, and MAN. Just to see that girl gang so happy and joyful made my heart soar.

Enjoy this wedding. The last two images are my favorites!
