Okay, how DREAMY is this session? Cara & Michael were so warm and welcoming to me for their session, and I couldn’t love the outcome more! You would never believe that these two were first time parents. They were so calm and easy with baby Harris. Like they were made for this chapter of their lives. No stress, just loving on their little boy the entire time. I loved the quiet moments we all shared as I was shooting, and loved getting to snuggle Harris too. He didn’t want to sleep unless someone was holding him, and you better believe I soaked in those newborn snuggles as I tried my darnedest to get him to close his eyes. While he never *quite* made it to that quiet & dreamy state, I still adore the portraits we got of him – wide eyed and content. He was perfectly adorable!
I wanted to highlight this session because it’s such an amazing example of how successful a newborn session can be when I don’t have very much beautiful light to work with throughout the house. If you know me, you know that I usually shoot a lot of newborn sessions in the nursery, living room, master bedroom, honestly anywhere! Well, the house was a bit dark on this day (it didn’t help that it was super overcast unexpectedly on the day of the session!) – luckily, Cara and Michael had the prettiest living room with great light! It was so cozy and neutral and inviting, I knew it was the perfect place for 95% of this shoot, and I was right!
Enjoy this sweet newborn session! Some images were shot on my Contax 645 on Fuji400, scanned by Photovision. The rest are digitals! Can you spot the differences?
