When Maggie first contacted me about photographing her wedding, I was sooo excited! I’ve known Maggie since high school, and she has always had THE.BEST.TASTE. I mean, this girl’s style is unreal, not to mention how hilarious and beautiful she is! She’s also been in a ton of weddings I’ve photographed in years past, so it was such an honor that she wanted to fly me to Michigan to shoot her big day!
I didn’t get a chance to meet Eli until their engagement session, but as soon as I did I liked him from the start. He’s such a great compliment to Maggie – funny and sarcastic, but you can also see how tender he is towards her. One of the coolest things about their relationship is how great they are together, but also how great they are apart. They are both very independent people and I loved how they respected each other to give them space in their relationship when needed! When you’ve been married almost 7 years like me, you just come to realize how important that is.
Their color palette was inspired by the locations they chose for the day: berry and burgundy to represent the vineyard where their reception was held, and the prettiest blue hues representing the waters of Lake Michigan where they exchanged their vows. Isn’t that so cool?

Huge shout out to the amazing vendors who were a part of this day, and to my husband John for 2nd shooting with me. You’d never know I got food poisoning and was deathly ill the entire night before – he got me some medication at 3 AM and is the ONLY reason I was able to make it through the day!
